What Probac is and what it is used for:
Probac (Cefuroxime) is second generation Cephalosporin antibiotic. Cefuroxime is used to treat certain infections caused by bacteria, such as bronchitis; gonorrhea; Lyme disease; and infections of the ears, throat, sinuses, urinary tract, and skin.
Before you take Probac:
All antibiotics should be avoided in the first trimester if possible. However Cefuroxime has been safely used in later pregnancy to treat urinary and other indication. Cefuroxime is excreted in human milk; consideration should be given to discontinuing nursing temporarily during treatment with Cefuroxime axetil.
How to take Probac:

Possible side effects:
Like all medicines, Probac can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Hypersensitivity reactions: Anaphylaxis, angioedema, pruritus, rash, serum sickness-like reaction, and urticaria. Gastrointestinal: Pseudomembranous colitis Hematologic: Hemolytic anemia, leucopenia, pancytopenia, and thrombocytopenia and increased prothrombin time. Skin: Erythemia multiforme, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, and toxic epidermal necrolysis. Tell your doctor if any of the side effects gets serious or lasts longer than a few days, or if you notice any side effects not listed in this leaflet.
How to store Probac:
Store in a cool and dry place, away from light. Keep out of the reach and sight of children.
