What Probac Plus is and what it is used for:

Probac Plus is an antibacterial combination of Cefuroxime, a 2ndgeneration cephalosporin and the beta-lactamase inhibitor, Clavulanic Acid. It has broad spectrum bactericidal activity against a wide range of common pathogens, including extended spectrum ?-lactamase (ESBL) producing strains. Probac Plus is indicated in various infections and used to treat infections such as Pharyngitis/Tonsillitis, Acute Bacterial Otitis Media, Acute Bacterial Maxillary Sinusitis, Lower respiratory tract infections, Acute Bacterial Exacerbation of Chronic Bronchitis, Uncomplicated Gonorrhea, Early Lyme disease, Septicemia, Meningitis.

Before you take Probac Plus:

Cefuroxime & Clavulanic acid is not used in patients with known allergy to Cephalosporin & in patients with Pseudomembranous colitis.

How to take Probac Plus:

Use Probac Plus as directed by your physician. Check the patient information leaflet for dosing instructions.

Possible side effects:

Generally Cefuroxime & Clvulanic Acid is well tolerated. Major adverse reactions which may occur are diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, transient elevation in AST, ALT, LDH and eosinophilia. Other adverse events that may occur are abdominal pain, abdominal cramps, flatulence, indigestion, headache, vaginitis, rash, itch, dysuria, Sleepiness, thirst and anorexia.

How to store Probac Plus:

Store below 30C, away from light and in a dry place. Keep out of reach of children.
